Franciscus ("Frans") Everbag was born in Amsterdam on 25 October 1877 and died there on 10 June 1947. He worked mainly in Amsterdam, but also lived for a time during his working life in Wormerveer, Rotterdam and Sloten and travelled frequently throughout Europe. He painted and drew townscapes, still lifes (flowers) and animals. Everbag was an important graphical artist (lithographs), largely producing coloured etchings of townscapes. He was a member of the artists' groups Arti et Amicitiae and St. Lucas, both of Amsterdam.
