Clement van Vlaardingen was born in Zwartsluis on 5 May 1916. He lived and worked in Zwartsluis, Naarden, Hilversum, Amersfoort and in Amsterdam. He returned to live in Hilversum in 1941, and died there on 18 December 1972. He produced paintings, drawings and watercolours of landscapes, townscapes and flowers, and was a member of groups including St. Lucas in Amsterdam and the Vereniging voor Beeldende Kunst (Visual Art Association) Laren-Blaricum.
